At Siyaram Akhara, Kolkata’s last mud-wrestling pit by the Hooghly, a dozen pahalwans gather every morning to honor the ancient art of kushti. Guided by generations of tradition, they train, coat themselves in mud for grip and stamina, and end with a holy dip in the Ganga.
